Foundry10 is happy to present their 5th annual high school hip hop dance competition, Beyond Boundaries 5. Currently across the world, hip hop dance trends emerge and then quickly evolve, leaving the original ideas of what hip hop dance was lost in translation. We feel it’s important for dancers to revisit the foundations of hip hop dance as they continue to grow and train. In order to develop the genre, we need to see where it came from and where it’s been. That’s why this year’s theme is “Foundations”. We’re going back to basics.
We’re also excited to announce that this year, the show will be FREE to the general public with suggested donations towards our Fun In The Sun: Youth Summer Items Donation Drive. All items will benefit Mary’s Place a nonprofit organization in Seattle that provides safe, inclusive shelter and services for women, children and families on their journey out of homelessness. Come support by bringing in new and gently used items for summer! We would love any and all donations towards the drive and we’re looking forward to another wonderful event!
Beyond Boundaries 5 will be May 18th at the Auburn Performing Arts Center with doors opening at 7:00 pm.
